A Nissan radio code is a unique 4-digit security number that unlocks your car radio after it loses power. Nissan fit anti-theft coded radios to almost every model — when the battery is disconnected, goes flat, or is replaced, the radio locks itself and displays "CODE IN", "SECURE" or "WAIT" until the correct code is entered.
Without the code, the radio will not work. The code is normally supplied on a small card with the vehicle handbook, but these cards are easily lost — especially on second-hand cars. That is where a radio code lookup service comes in: we recover the original code from your radio's serial number.
Why does my Nissan radio need a code?
It is an anti-theft measure. If someone steals your radio, it is useless without the code. The downside is that any legitimate power loss also triggers the lock:
- Battery replaced or disconnected
- Battery went flat or was jump-started
- Fuse blown or removed
- Radio removed and refitted
- Vehicle serviced or repaired
How to find your Nissan radio serial number
There are two ways, depending on which radio is fitted to your Nissan. Pick your radio type below:
Can I get my Nissan radio code for free?
Honestly — no. Unlike some older Ford and Vauxhall radios, Nissan codes are not generated by a public calculator. Each code is stored against the radio's serial number in a secure database, so it has to be looked up.
Websites advertising a "free Nissan radio code calculator" generally cannot deliver a working code — they exist to collect your email or show ads. The only genuinely free route is a Nissan main dealer, and they normally charge £60–£100 and ask you to bring the car in. Our service does the same database lookup for a flat £12.95, delivered instantly by email.

How to enter your Nissan radio code
- 1Turn on the ignition so the radio display lights up (you do not need to start the engine).
- 2The display will show "CODE IN" or a flashing digit. Use preset buttons 1–6 to enter the four digits of your code — button 1 for the first digit, button 2 for the second, and so on. Press each button repeatedly to cycle the digit up.
- 3On most units, press and hold preset button 6 to confirm the code. On Nissan Connect units, press the SOURCE or OK button.
- 4If entered correctly, the radio unlocks and plays immediately. If you enter a wrong code three times, the radio will lock and show the serial on screen — which is actually how you retrieve it.

How do I get my Nissan radio code?
Find your radio serial number (on screen after 3 wrong codes, or on the label on the back of the unit), enter it with your email on our order page, pay £12.95, and your unlock code is delivered to your inbox instantly.
Can I get my Nissan radio code for free?
No. Unlike some older radios, Nissan codes are not generated by a public calculator — they are looked up from a secure database using your serial number. Any site offering a "free Nissan radio code calculator" either cannot actually provide it or is collecting your details. The only free route is a Nissan main dealer, who typically charges £60–£100 and requires you to bring the vehicle in.
How much is a Nissan radio code?
We charge a flat £12.95 for any Nissan radio — Daewoo, Bosch Connect, Clarion, Blaupunkt or Visteon. A Nissan main dealer typically charges £60 to £100 and may ask you to book the car in.
How long does delivery take?
Most codes are delivered to your email in under 60 seconds after payment clears. A small number of older units can take a few minutes longer during a manual lookup.
Where is the serial number on a Nissan radio?
It depends on the radio type. On Nissan Connect (Bosch) and Daewoo/Visteon units it appears on the screen after you enter three wrong codes. On Clarion and Blaupunkt units it is printed on the label on the back of the radio, so you need to remove the unit with release keys.
How do I enter the code on my Nissan radio?
Use the radio preset buttons 1–6 to enter each digit, then press and hold button 6 (or the source/OK button on Connect units) to confirm. Full step-by-step instructions are emailed with every code.
My radio says "SECURE" or "CODE IN" — what does that mean?
It means the radio is locked after a power loss (battery change, flat battery, or disconnection) and is requesting its security code. Enter your unlock code using the preset buttons to restore it.
What if the code does not work?
Every code is verified against your serial before delivery. If it ever fails, contact support and we will either supply the correct code or issue a full refund under our money-back guarantee.
Which Nissan models do you support?
All major Nissan models including Qashqai, Juke, Micra, Note, X-Trail, Navara, NV200, Primastar, Almera, Primera, Leaf and more — across every radio type fitted from the late 1990s onwards.
Is payment secure?
Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe with 256-bit encryption. We never see or store your card details, and you can pay by card or Apple Pay.
